OHSU Center for Women’s Health and OHSU Moore Institute for Nutrition & Wellness are raising awareness about women’s health and nutrition during National Women’s Health Week (#NWHW), which is May 8-14. Here’s why it matters:
The OHSU Center for Women’s Health is the only designated National Center of Excellence in the Pacific Northwest. Led by Michelle Berlin, M.D., M.P.H., and Renee Edwards, M.D., M.B.A., the Center provides a full spectrum of services and programs for women.
The OHSU Moore Institute for Nutrition & Wellness, led by Kent Thornburg, Ph.D., focuses on reducing the prevalence of chronic diseases by promoting healthy, nutrient-rich diets based on whole foods before conception, during pregnancy and in early childhood.
Monday, May 9: National Women’s Check-up Day
When: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tuesday, May 10: Oregon Nutrition Day 2016 - “Appetite: Why We Eat What We Eat”
When: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: OMSI Auditorium, 1945 S.E. Water Ave., Portland, OR 97214
Details: Hosted by OHSU Moore Institute. Features keynote address from New York Times best-selling author and Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Michael Moss. Registration is $25; the event is open to the public.

Time: 10 to 11 a.m.
Details: Experts for the OHSU Center for Women’s Health will be on hand to answer questions about topics related to women’s health. Reporters and the public are encouraged to either submit questions anonymously in advance of the event or ask during the live chat.
Friday, May 13: Oregon Women’s Health Network May lecture: “Healthy Communities, Healthy Families, Healthy Women”
