Study gives more insight into immunotherapy treatment for ALS

New research reveals a promising treatment in stopping the progression of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Senior author Bahareh Ajami, Ph.D., says, “At this point, we cannot say it’s a cure but it’s a very interesting start. It may be similar to what immunotherapy did for cancer or will do for Alzheimer’s by targeting immune cells."

In a KFF Health News story published by CBS News, The Oregonian and other outlets across the country, Brett Dodson says OHSU’s program to provide RV parking spaces for patients and families is an option for many families driving from eight to 10 hours away. He says, “They’ve seen the rural clinics and they need to come to that next level. When they do, I think they’re more comfortable with an RV than they are trying to find a hotel.”
