Jamie Lo, M.D., says: “These findings are important because we can now more confidently assure patients that by abstaining from THC for at least four months, the impacts of THC on male fertility can be partly reversed.”

Artist’s tremor reversed with no-cut brain surgery at OHSU

KGW-TV highlights an artist who is able to paint again after being treated by Ahmad Raslan, M.D., with focused ultrasound — revolutionary no-cut brain surgery that is changing lives for patients suffering from essential tremors; OHSU is the only hospital in the state to offer the treatment. Raslan says, “It’s a very effective operation. With careful targeting, almost everyone sees a tremor reduction or complete cessation of tremor, the tremors disappear, the use of the hand improves. Tobacco assessments decline in primary care

A national study led by Sue Flocke, Ph.D., found that routine tobacco use assessments plummeted by 50% during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and did not return to pre-pandemic levels. Flocke says: “We know that a large portion of people who use tobacco do want to quit, but the vast majority of them do not have access to or do not use available resources. Health care providers can provide access to a wide variety of resources, including referral for tobacco cessation counseling and prescriptions for FDA-approved tobacco cessation medications. A successful quit attempt typically requires many tries — that’s why these discussions are so important.”
