Thousands of Oregon healthcare workers remain unvaccinated as deadlines loom

To help ensure its hospitals and clinics remain as safe as possible for the long term, OHSU requires all members -- employees, learners and volunteers institution-wide -- be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or receive an approved medical or religious exception by Oct. 18.

Low-dose aspirin guards against preeclampsia task force

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends low-dose aspirin during the first trimester of pregnancy to limit risks of preeclampsia; OHSU's Aaron Caughey, M.D., Ph.D., says: “We know that aspirin interacts with some molecules in the bloodstream that are related to inflammation, and we think it impacts the way the placenta implants in the uterus.”

COVID screening program to begin for elementary students

OHSU is partnering with OHA, the Oregon Department of Education and school districts across the state to provide free COVID-19 weekly screening for students in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade.
