Heart inflammation condition looked like heart attack in kids, pediatrician says

In a presentation to the National Vaccine Advisory Committee, Judith Guzman-Cottrill, D.O., discusses an OHSU-led review of seven cases of heart muscle inflammation in adolescent males following the second dose of mRNA vaccine. She says that, while its important for pediatricians and parents to be aware of the symptoms, CDC data indicates that millions of youths have been vaccinated with very few reported cases of myocarditis.

Behavioral counseling interventions for pregnancy weight

An OHSU-led evidence review informs a new recommendation by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force that behavioral counseling be offered to pregnant individuals to help maintain healthy weight during pregnancy; Aaron Caughey, M.D., Ph.D., says: "Promoting healthy weight gain during pregnancy is important for both pregnant people and their babies."
