MIT Technology Review interviews Fikadu Tafesse, Ph.D., regarding a federal plan to limit access to COVID vaccines to people 65 and older and those with conditions that make them more susceptible to severe disease. Citing OHSU research suggesting immunity gathers strength with more time between vaccination and infection, he says, “One year is really a random time. If you are at risk [of a serious COVID infection] you may actually need [a dose] every six months. But for healthy individuals, it’s a very different conversation.”
